MULTI- MEDIA JOURNALIST. REPORTER. PRODUCER

Uilani was born in Hawaii and raised in a small town north of the Bay Area. She currently resides in the Bay Area where she loves the fact that you get the best of everything. You have city life, beach life and tones of mountains and trails to explore whenever you feel. Uilani discovered her passion for writing at a young age. She was a part of the journalism team in middle school not really understanding if that was her life path but finding herself continually drawn to it. Uilani is a people person so its no wonder she is drawn to a career path that will have her interacting with an array of people.

Uilani will receive her Broadcast Electronic Creative Arts Degree from San Francisco State University in May 2017. Her on hands training began here, where she was a reporter for State of Events, SFSU news show. Her job each week was to find story ideas, film the story, write the script, and edit. This kind of training prepares you for the reality of a fast pace news room. While in school, Uilani interned for KTVU Fox 2 in Oakland, Ca. This is where everything she ever learned about multi media came together. This internship helped her to really see that news is her passion. Whether she was helping producers write teases, researching or logging tapes, she always put her all in her work.
